In order to remove the lid from this box, you must turn the crank. The gears will spin and the lid will slide open. Yes, it's rather ridiculous, but I find it soothing to crank the lid open and closed... This is an Arduino-powered version with an integrated stepper motor. The initial switch press turns on the internal lights and rotates the gears, and slides the lid open. A second press of the switch turns off the lights and closes the lid.  |
