yep, that center piece really is a mirror This is my first "mechanical" laser cutting project. I was inspired by NTT's Instructable, an ingenious evolution of other folks' iris projects. I wanted to create a similar piece, but have it match the style of my other work. I cut the pieces out of 1/8" acrylic. Coming out of the laser, there was minimal assembly work to do - though I did add the outer ring and yellow dots to keep everything in place when mounted on a wall. Sliding the handle up and down reveals and hides the underlying mirror.  |
